Unintended Humor: Nancy Pelosi on Congressional Dignity

Charlotte Hays

Hilarious Headline of the Week:

Pelosi: Congressional Pay Cut Undermines the Dignity of the Job

I’d say that Congress has already done that for itself. Congressional approval rating is at 14 percent, though I personally give the House Republicans high marks for fighting a wearing battle against the expansion of government. The story is from The Hill, which quotes Ms. Pelosi saying:

"I don't think we should do it; I think we should respect the work we do," Pelosi told reporters in the Capitol. "I think it's necessary for us to have the dignity of the job that we have rewarded."

Bonus points for diagramming Ms. Pelosi’s last sentence.
