Hillary Clinton's Favorite Charity: Hillary Clinton

Charlotte Allen

Charity begins at home:

Hillary Clinton and her husband Bill deducted $1,042,000 in charitable contributions last year — $1 million of which went to their own family non-profit, the Clinton Family Foundation.

That's, um, 96 percent.

Now, the Clinton Family Foundation is a different nonprofit entity from the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation--the one that pays Chelsea's salary and Bill's expenses and may be under investigation for corruption by the FBI.

But it's still under the Clinton family's control.

Now, how about that other $42,000?

The Daily Caller reports on that:

The other $42,000 contribution was to Desert Classic Charities. That group hosts an annual PGA golf event. Doug Band, a Clinton Foundation adviser and Bill Clinton’s longtime assistant, was on the board of directors of that organization through 2014, according to its IRS filings.

In short, the main charitable activity of Desert Classic Charities is running a golf tournament in La Quinta, California, near Palm Springs. (Some of the proceeds from the tournament go to local charities.) And we know that Bill Clinton lives for golf--so much so that he still maintains a locker at the Trump National Golf Club in his new home town of Chappaqua, New York, despite the fact that the "Trump" in question is You Know Who.

And that's it. No churches, no Red Cross, no Wounded Warriors or anything like that. As Legal Insurrection comments:

That’s a pretty good racket.

We've all joked, "My favorite charity: Myself." For the Clinton's it's no joke at all.
