Fresh off her disparaging remarks in India about how women vote, Hillary Clinton is being heralded as one of the main attractions at the Women in the World Summit, held in New York's Lincoln Center in April. Women's Wear Daily reports:

Tina Brown has been organizing the Women in the World Summit for nine years, but this year’s event, set against the backdrop of #MeToo, antigun violence activism and the debate over equal pay, makes it “a huge year,” Brown said. “The biggest thing is that Hillary Rodham Clinton will be moderating a panel. Hillary usually doesn’t moderate, but she loved the idea.

“There’s been so much wonderful passion,” Brown said. “Inevitably, you’ll see an explosion of that power and emotion and dedication. We started Women in the World in 2010, and have been banging the drum ever since. Many of the people we featured early on were from overseas. It’s really burst and come around to the U.S.”

We might consider the women who made serious sexual accusations against Bill Clinton to be the unsung precursors of the MeToo movement. Mrs. Clinton's role in trying to silence these women is legendary.

The Washington Times names some of the other prominent people who will be on the program:

  • Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-New York).
  • Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska).
  • Nicholas Kristof, columnist, The New York Times.
  • Mindy Grossman, president and CEO, Weight Watchers International Inc.
  • Zainab Salbi, host and executive editor of “#MeToo, Now What,” founder of Women for Women International and author of ADIN Productions.

It is no surprise that Tina Brown, the former editor of Vanity Fair, would find a spot on the program for her old friend, Mrs. Clinton.

Still, the irony of having Mrs. Clinton as a headliner at a MeToo event is rich, especially coming at a time when a growing number of Democrats are desperately trying to distance themselves from the cringeworthy things Mrs. Clinton is saying.
