Four scenarios with global warming:
1) Global warming is fake and we do nothing = our air quality still degrades
2) Global warming is fake and we do something about it = our air quality betters and people have less asthmas/allergies
3) Global warming is real and we do something about it = stall the effects and save the world billions in costs of holding back the oceans, rebuilding from places destroyed by hurricans and typhoons, et al
4) Global warming is fake and we do nothing about it = humanity ceases to exist at some point in the near future
These are really the only four scenarios to look at. If we do something about global warming, all we will be doing is bettering the earth's already apparent environmental problems regardless of Global warming. If we do nothing, there could be catastrophic consequences for future generations. I for one think that if there is an overwhelming amount of evidence, doing something about it cannot hurt the world, it can only help it, regardless of whether or not global warming is real. I don't know if you have kids, but I sure would like there to be a world left for mine and for theirs and so on and so forth. When 3000 scientists say there is a 90% chance that humans are having an environmental effect on the world, that is an indication that it is time to do something. Sitting on our hands is not going to do anything, in fact it may make the problem so bad that there is no turning back. This is why people in both parties support this legislation and why I support it. There are ways to balance the economy and still limit waste. Please respond to me and tell me what reasons we would have to do nothing, because I certainly cannot see any.
