No one likes a cheater. So Ensign’s chances of re-election are probably pretty slim.

I certainly do not condone Ensign’s behavior, but I loathe the idea of a Senate Ethics investigation. I suspect this will become a media spectacle much like it was over Gov. Mark Sanford and Sen. John Edwards’s marital infidelities.

All newfound civility will go out the window, as the left screams sexism and points fingers at “double-standard” Republicans. Of course, there will be no mention that affairs are a two-way street, or that women play a role in these unfortunate situations.

Most of all there will be no honest conversation about how to foster greater respect for women or for marriage.
