Food for Thought

The Weekly Standard
Women for Food Freedom

by Victorino Matus

Yes, we can all eat better and get more exercise. No, the government shouldn't take on these challenges by restricting our choices of food and drink. This is where the new website Women for Food Freedom comes in—a creation of the Independent Women's Forum meant to counter various "one-size-fits-all" food policies. Whether it be soda taxes, obesity stats, or the fear of BPA, the site provides sensible counterarguments to what it calls "government overreach and paternalism at its worst." As more of these nanny state issues arise, the site will be worth checking for updates.

Independent Women's Forum is an educational 501(c)(3) dedicated to developing and advancing policies that aren’t just well intended, but actually enhance people’s freedom, choices, and opportunities. IWF is the sister organization of the Independent Women’s Voice.
