INDEPENDENT WOMEN’S FORUM WELCOMES CLAUDIA ROSETT AS ITS FOREIGN POLICY FELLOW

WASHINGTON, DC – The Independent Women’s Forum (IWF), the leading conservative organization focused on women and public policy, announced today that Claudia Rosett, award-winning journalist covering the international scene, joins the organization as Foreign Policy Fellow.

“IWF is thrilled to welcome Claudia Rossett, a veteran foreign affairs journalist, who is responsible for some of the most critical research and writing in the field in recent years,” said Sabrina Schaeffer, Executive Director of Independent Women’s Forum. “Her focus on North Korea, the Middle East, and the United Nations shows that she has her thumb on the pulse of American foreign policy and is able to communicate these serious world concerns in terms that resonate with women and their families."

"It's a pleasure to be joining this team of women dedicated to freedom," said Ms. Rosett.

For the past three decades, Ms. Rossett has reported from around the globe – in Asia, the former Soviet Union, Latin America and the Middle East. She has been widely credited with groundbreaking reporting on the United Nations and its dealings with despotic regimes.

Her writings can be seen in numerous publications including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Weekly Standard, The Journal of International Security Affairs, and Forbes.com, where her column, “Freedom’s Edge,” appears.  She blogs at The Rosett Report, on PJMedia.com.

She is a frequent foreign policy guest on TV and radio.  From 1984-2002 Ms. Rosett was a staff writer at The Wall Street Journal, serving as a member of the Editorial Board in New York (1997-2002); reporter, promoted to bureau chief, in Moscow (1993-96); editorial-page editor of The Asian Wall Street Journal in Hong Kong (1986-93); and book review editor in New York (1984-86). From 2003-Jan., 2016 she was affiliated as journalist-in-residence with the Foundation for Defense of Democracies.

Ms. Rosett is a winner of the Journalism Leadership Eagle Award of the New York Respect for Law Alliance (2013); and the Eric Breindel Award (2005) and Mightier Pen Award (2005) for her reporting on corruption under the United Nations Oil-for-Food program. For her on-site coverage of China’s 1989 Tiananmen Square uprising, Ms. Rosett won an Overseas Press Club Citation for Excellence. She holds a B.A. from Yale University, an M.A. in English from Columbia University, an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business.
