Patrice Lee Onwuka Joins Independent Women's Forum as Senior Policy Analyst

Washington, D.C. – Independent Women's Forum today announced the addition of Patrice Lee Onwuka as a senior policy analyst. Patrice is joining the organization full-time after serving as a senior fellow for over 3 years.

“We are thrilled to welcome Patrice as a full-time spokeswoman and policy analyst for IWF,” said IWF managing director Carrie Lukas. “Patrice is one of the most talented communicators and policy analysts in Washington, and her unique background and experience give her a fresh perspective on important issues like how less government intrusion helps people achieve the American Dream.”

Onwuka has worked in the advocacy and communications fields for more than a decade. Prior to joining IWF, Onwuka served as national spokeswoman and communications director at Generation Opportunity, and worked at The Philanthropy Roundtable and the Fund for American Studies in policy and media roles. She also held consulting roles as a speech writer for a United Nations spokesman and a manager for a student travel program to South Africa.

"I am excited to build on my work at the Independent Women's Forum. We are educating women and communities to understand that greater freedom and economic opportunity are the best avenues to a better future," said Onwuka. "As a young immigrant woman I will continue bringing messages of personal liberty and free markets to those who often don't hear them but intrinsically believe in them."

Born in the Caribbean, Onwuka immigrated with her family to Boston where she grew up. She earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from Tufts University and a master’s degree in international relations from Boston College. Patrice’s unique background fuels her passion to defend freedom and faith in America.
