Title IX was passed in 1972 as an education amendment and was written to prohibit sex discrimination in schools. Today, Title IX applies to all educational programs but athletic programs have been impacted the most.  Here's a quick recap of the problems with Title IX and athletics and reforms that would improve Title IX:
