Holton-Arms Alumnae Take a Stand on Kavanaugh Accusations

by Charlotte Hays

More than 200 alumnae of Holton-Arms, the prep school attended by Christine Blasey Ford, who has accused Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct when they were in high school, have signed a letter in support of Dr. Ford.

The New York Post has the story:

The letter says the women — who graduated from the private Holton-Arms School in Bethesda, Md., between 1967 and 2018 — believe California psychology professor Christine Blasey Ford “and are grateful that she came forward to tell her story.”

“Dr. Blasey Ford’s experience is all too consistent with stories we heard and lived while attending Holton,” the letter says.

“Many of us are survivors ourselves.”

In a similar vein, Caitlin Flanagan writes in The Atlantic that she believes Dr. Ford based on something that happened to Flanagan when she was in high school.

With all due respect to these the Holton-Arms alumnae and Flanagan,a prominent writer, that is not how you evaluate a specific accusation against a specific person.

That Caitlin Flanagan had a terrible experience in high school doesn't mean anything about Judge Kavanaugh.

That many Holton-Arms graduates have had bad experiences with the opposite sex isn't evidence against Judge Kavanaugh.

These are educated women, the best and brightest.

It is disheartening that they believe this is how to evaluate accusations of a very serious nature against another human being.
